A family unit is the bond that connects two or more individuals. The definition of a family knows no bounds; it could encompass a parent and child, two or more partners, siblings, biological family, chosen family, poly family, and more.
Each individual within this unit possesses their own distinct needs, wants, and values. Often, when a family member perceives that their needs, wants, and/or values are not acknowledged or fulfilled, it can lead to conflicts. Similarly, family members frequently desire to enhance their relationships but may lack the means to do so.
In the realm of family coaching and guidance, Jadivan will facilitate communication among family members, creating a safe space for each individual to express their needs, wants, and values. Together, they will explore methods to balance these needs, enhance communication, establish boundaries, strengthen relationships, and address conflicts.
Through this process, you and your family will acquire the tools needed to lead a joyful life, replete with excitement, shared stories, and enriching experiences.

Some people may assert that parenting is a natural skill inherent from birth. However, in this era marked by technology, social media, and boundless opportunities, providing care and support for a child proves to be a challenging endeavor. Jadivan is here to accompany you on this journey, whether your child exhibits impulsive behaviors, emotional complexities, limited attention span, frequent distractions, deficient academic skills, or underdeveloped social interactions.
Both you and your child are doing your utmost, based on the knowledge you possess, with an aspiration for improvement. Therefore, in the realm of parents’ and caregivers’ coaching and guidance, Jadivan extends an invitation for you to become an integral part of the solution. It is imperative to recognize that neither the child nor you constitutes the problem; rather, you both contribute to the solution.
Central to this approach is awareness. Together, we will delve into the needs of the youth, discern the origins and ramifications of these challenges, and define desired results and outcomes. We will analyze current approaches, previous attempts, and collaboratively pinpoint tools, skills, and strategies that caregivers and families can employ to facilitate the desired behaviors and outcomes. Of utmost importance is our joint effort to strengthen the relationship between the youth and their caregiver(s).
This endeavor will be realized through a series of distinct sessions, including one-on-one sessions with the caregiver(s), one-on-one sessions with the youth, and sessions that involve both the caregiver(s) and the youth. Each family member plays a vital role in achieving the family’s long-term objectives.
In addition to personalized sessions, Jadivan offers a Caregivers Support Group (intended for caregivers of children under 18). Further details can be found under the ‘Groups and Classes’ section.

The DBT training program is based on two foundational books by Marsha M. Linehan: DBT Skills Training Manual and DBT Skills Training Handouts and Worksheets.
Only one book is highly recommended (purchasing is encouraged) to participate in the DBT skills training program: DBT Skills Training Handouts and Worksheets. This book provides copies of essential handouts and worksheets for practicing skills.
The DBT Skills Training Manual is not required for participants, as it is primarily intended for use by the trainer.
You are not alone. Support groups and classes provide a safe space to hear others' experiences, share your own experiences, feel validated and acknowledged, receive support, experience a sense of belonging, and learn methods that support your journey of acceptance and problem-solving.
This is a virtual group that meets for one and a half to two hours weekly. Prior to
joining the group, applicants are required to submit an application,
undergo an interview with Jadivan, and arrange a virtual meeting to
review the group’s guidelines and conduct a technology dry run.
This support group is specifically designed for LGBTQ+ adults. The primary
purpose of this group is to provide support, facilitate the sharing of
experiences, and foster the development of friendships. A sense of
belonging and the opportunity for social interaction are essential
aspects, particularly when the demands of day-to-day activities may
impede one’s ability to feel supported, validated, and understood.
Therefore, it is crucial to be encompassed by a positive and supportive
environment, along with guidance, especially in an era dominated by the
influence of social media and distorted perceptions to which we are
exposed.
The group sessions are facilitated by Jadivan. The structure of each
session involves an initial 20-minute segment dedicated to ice-breaker
activities and check-ins. During this time, participants have the
opportunity to spend 2 minutes each sharing highlights from their week,
engaging in a light-hearted ice-breaker exercise, and discussing a topic
of personal interest for the day’s session. Subsequently, the group
collectively decides on a discussion topic, either through voting or
pre-selection. Jadivan then leads the discussion on the chosen topic for
55 minutes, maintaining awareness of the group dynamic and adhering to
established guidelines. The session concludes with a 15-minute
mindfulness practice.
In addition, a fun activity will be organized once a quarter. Examples of
such activities may include games, watching movies or shows, or
participating in pride events.
Times and dates: Tuesday 6:00-7:30pm (Pacific Time) with 15 min break

A natural support system stands as a fundamental element in surmounting challenges, as the adage goes, ‘It takes a village to raise a child.’ This support group is tailored for caregivers of children under 18 and is led and facilitated by Jadivan. Its aim is to establish a secure space for caregivers to share their experiences, increase validation, find greater support, raise awareness, and collectively contribute to solutions.
Caregivers participating in this group should have completed a minimum of five sessions with Jadivan before attending the group (see more: ‘Parents and Caregivers Coaching and Guidance One-on-One’).
Jadivan serves as the group’s facilitator. The group’s structure involves the initial 20 minutes dedicated to ice-breaker activities and check-ins, allowing each participant a 2-minute window to share highlights from their week, engage in a light-hearted ice-breaker, and introduce a topic of personal interest for the day’s session. Jadivan guides the discussion on the chosen topic for 55 minutes, remaining attuned to the group’s dynamics and adhering to established guidelines. “I’ve had the privilege of knowing Jadivan for many years now, and his combination of clinical knowledge, compassion and life experience is such an amazing gift he generously shares with me and so many others. Very recently, I found myself trying to navigate a rather complicated issue involving mental health and wasn’t sure where to even start. Despite having a full plate, he took the time to understand the issue and precisely what my concerns were and provided exactly the education and referrals needed to get un-stuck. And to top it all off, he’s just a great person to chat with! Thanks, Jadivan!”
